Jazz

I woke up on a beautiful day in March and all seemed better than we ever imagined. Little did we know that the world as we knew it, was about to be shaken. This shaking has rippled through all fabric of life, shaking us to our core.

Arts took the biggest blow and musicians started digging deep into their savings in the bank and still needed to imagine if there would still be a stage to perform on, and an audience to listen and interact with the music and musicians.

In this challenging season, I have found an assurance that Hope is a force, and it is easily expressed through music, even when it is difficult to articulate in word. Hope brings the joy and comfort in the future, into the pain of the present.

The AMAESHI IKECHI QUINTET presents the "IRETI" (HOPE) Project, that will be streamed live on URBAN SESSIONS. Featuring the greats: Marcus Wyatt (trumpet) , Peter Auret (Drums) , David Cousins (Piano) , Sisonke Xonti (Tenor sax) , and Amaeshi Ikechi (double bass).
