When Rock 'n roll music exploded onto the scene in the 50s, adults first called it a fad, is a temporary craze that will not take too long to run its course then they wanted it banned. Parents wanted to know what was rock 'n roll music? Where did this wild dance 'noise' with questionable lyrics come from ? and was it safe for the kids? While their sedate older generation were stately prancing to the mambo, the baby boomer teenagers were reeling to another rhythm called Rock 'n Roll. Contrary to expectation, and far from being just a youthful fad, rock and roll music became powerful force for cultural, social, and political change that spread around the world. The Reals and the Gee Jays take a tongue in cheek look at the birth of Rock n Roll in the 50s and chart its development through the turbulent 60s and 70s into the 80s. They cover 34 all time hits from legends such as Chuck Berry, Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Queen, ABBA, Jethro Tull, The Doors, Roy Orbison, Bruce Springsteen, the Hollies and many others. They answer the age old question: is Rock n Roll dead?
