Drum roll!!
Drummers are the driving force behind a band, the foundation stone of the music.
Yet, drummers are always at the back, obscured by drums and cymbals, heard but not seen!
"Let There Be Drums", is a tribute show to the stickmen who pioneered rock and roll drumming.
From the grooves of Ringo and Charlie Watts through to the thunder of Bonham and Ian Paice, this tribute showcases the influence that drummers had on rock n roll. Also featured are session drummers who appeared on literally hundreds of top 20 hits, yet remain practically anonymous to music lovers.
The band is comprised of veteran drummer Grant Halliday, guitar maestro Graeme Barnes, experienced keyboardist Lee Hart, rock steady bassist/vocalist Brian Rowe and the powerful vocals and presence of Sandy Elle.
The show traces the history of the drumkit and its influence on music.
There have been tribute shows to showcase guitarists and vocalists, but for the first-time audiences will see and hear the drums close up, with a top-class band to highlight the rhythm.
